Terry Graunke brings more than 25 years of experience in starting, building, operating, and investing in companies, including evaluating and executing acquisitions, mergers, and exits. He founded Lake Capital in 1998, which has since invested in a variety of service enterprises with capital commitments in excess of $1.7 billion. In 2014 Lake acquired Engine, with the aim of creating a major, independent global force in marketing services and communications.
Prior to forming Lake Capital, Terry was the founder and chief executive of both publicly-traded and private companies. As an investor, his approach joins operational know-how with financial expertise and resources, resulting in a unique ability to partner with management teams to build successful enterprises that create significant shareholder value.
Debbie became Chief Executive of Engine in the UK in June 2008. Prior to that she had worked at WCRS for eleven years, initially joining as Head of Planning, before becoming Chief Executive of the advertising agency in 2005. One year earlier Debbie was a founding partner in the management buyout of WCRS.
Debbie started her career at AC Nielsen, before joining Saatchi & Saatchi as a Strategic Planner in 1993.
She is the author of Women in Advertising: 10 years on, a study commissioned by the IPA. Many of the recommendations made in her report have since been adopted by the advertising industry. She is a past president of WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications London), a network of senior women in the media, industry.
Simon Kooyman, Chief Executive Officer — leverages nearly two decades of deep market research and leadership expertise to build ORC International’s business across the globe. Prior to joining ORC International, Simon was CEO of Knowledge Networks, a venture fund-backed market research firm (which was sold in 2012 to GfK Custom Research). Other career milestones include serving as chairman and CEO of Ipsos North America, and as president of the VNU Marketing Information Entertainment Group. Simon is a native of The Netherlands and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Vlerick University (Louvain, Belgium).
Rick leads the entertainment and content marketing agency that creates integrated campaigns for all the top film studios, television networks and major consumer brands. He began his career at Y&R Brands where he later became Managing Partner of Southern California and led growth for the agency. Rick launched three specialty units within WPP including branding agency Brandbuzz where he served as CEO. When he isn’t between meetings or working in airports and carpool lanes, he relaxes with his wife and three children.
Collin Abert is responsible for originating and evaluating potential investments, structuring transactions, leading due diligence, negotiating agreements and working with existing portfolio companies. Collin is actively involved with Lake Capital's investments in Trailer Park, PhysioHealth, Soil Safe, and intraFUSION.
Prior to joining Lake Capital in 2011, Collin worked for three years in the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings and debt financings in diversified industrials, consumer, and building products industries.
